Marston's to supply beer at Test grounds
Which is good news if you like Marston's. We like Marston's.Unfortunately, Old Trafford, our closest ground and therefore the one we tend to visit most, doesn't seem to be included in this deal. This means that we'll probably have to carry on drinking Thwaite's when we're there.
Thwaite's is horrible. We only drink it as part of a prolonged study to decide whether it tastes more like metal or blood.

A decent pint of Thwaite's is actually quite nice. No, really, it is - the Altrincham Garrick Theatre does a half-decent pint of the stuff, in fact.
However, at Old Trafford, it's RUBBISH.
Last time I was at Headingley (to watch the mighty Lankans THUMP England), I was enticed by the HUGE Deuchars IPA poster on one side of the ground. I then spent much of the lunch break walking around, checking every bar for evidence of said beer. Nothing.
The one (rather cute) barmaid I asked about it in the end had never heard of it...but then, she wasn't really aware of the difference between lager and bitter, to be honest.
I wouldn't mind so much paying £3 a pint, if it was any good. Actually, I'm off to 3Rivers brewery tomorrow, in Stockport. Mmmmmmmm.
Can you check if there's room for a Test ground while you're there?
Subbuteo Cricket, perhaps. Not the real stuff, unless you had eleven Ian Bells on each team.
Well, we're sure a few of the local residents won't mind shifting elsewhere for the cause.
