Anyone recognise Will Jefferson's mate?

You can blame today's lack of international cricket for this garbage. Surely Zimbabwe could have organised a match against Cambodia or someone. We've always got something to say about Zimbabwe.

If you didn't know that Will Jefferson was tall. Read this post about how Will Jefferson's tall.

Will Jefferson's in the England A squad

Despite playing about once all season, England have included part-man, part-turret, Will Jefferson in their A squad for the tour of Bangladesh. With his gargantuan physique and brilliantine white skin, Will'll blend in seamlessly with the locals.

Also included are Nick Compton, Adil Rashid and Tom Smith - all of whom we're quite interested in.

Matt Prior's in again as well. He's quickly becoming the new Glen Chapple - a perpetual A-tourist.

Will Jefferson and Stuart Broad selected for England A

Only it's not England A. It's 'England Lions'.

Ian Brown once said: "There are no lions in England". Now he's been flatly contradicted. There will be 11 Lions and Will Jefferson and Stuart Broad will be among their number.

Stuart Broad lists 'growing taller' among his hobbies. Perhaps Will Jefferson's presence will inspire Stuart to ever greater heights.

They should have renamed the side 'England Brobdingnagians'.

Will Jefferson, Nottinghamshire - one to watch in 2007

Will Jefferson was one to watch in 2006, but he didn't play much. As a result of this he left Essex and moved to Nottinghamshire.

So Will's one to watch again, partly because we didn't get much out of him last year, partly because we rate him very highly, but mostly because he's a giant - that race of oversized benevolent beings who are our guardians and overlords.

If we're extra nice to Will, he might let us in on some of the secrets behind his alien technology. Or he might crush us without mercy. You never can tell with the giants.

England A win first one-day match against Bangladesh

It's a great day for last year's county season ones to watch. Matt Prior, the exceptional photography subject, hit 84 not out off 72 balls and the giants' representative in English cricket, Will Jefferson, hit 68 off 52 balls. England A won.

Matt Prior's in with more than a decent chance of being England's wicketkeeper next summer. Paul Nixon's essentially a one-day stop-gap and the selectors will be looking longer-term for the Test spot.

Chris Read and Geraint Jones are out of favour, although you never really know what's going on. This leaves Prior, James Foster and Steven Davies to battle it out before the first Test. Foster's not on the A tour, so we'll count him out. So far on this A tour, Matt Prior's actually been given the gloves ahead of Steven Jones, even though both have been playing. Is that a sign?
