Sri Lanka's tour was a success

We haven't really been writing about this one-day series between England and Sri Lanka for two reasons. Firstly, as an England fan there's nothing to really celebrate. Secondly, the majority of our readers are English and couldn't care less about the series because England's losses are almost choreographed they're so predictable. Granted, we'd have more Sri Lankan readers if we had written about it, but come on. Have you seen the scores? We're no masochist.

It would be interesting to produce a graph charting Sri Lanka's performances over the course of this tour. It's always fun to explain things with a graph (at least it is in our world). Sri Lanka started uncertainly getting bowled out cheaply in warm-up games. Then they lost to England A. In the Test series, they went from 'clinging on impressively' to 'drawing but making a bit of a statement' to 'winning'. We've put 'winning' in inverted commas because it's such a strange notion to England supporters at present.

Following on from the Test series, they started off winning and just ground England into the dirt. It'll take a month to dig up half of England's one-day side, they were ground into the dirt so comprehensively.

Well played Sri Lanka. It was a pleasure to have you round. Please visit again. We promise we'll be in better shape next time.
